About

So About This Lars Dude...

About me: Born in Denmark, during a time of expensive oil and where disco was something you listened to and not yet a word used as an insult, and raised during the cultural nirvana of the 1980s (though music officially peaked in 1992) where shows on tv somehow managed to make it believable that a police officer could wear pastel-colored jackets and still seem cool (or maybe is was the sports car he drove or the fact that he lived with an alligator on a boat). I also like really, really long sentences.

I have lived abroad since 1999, in Slovenia, Czech Republic, Ireland, UK and Germany. I spent 5 years in the start-up and online media business, and nearly a decade at Google working on the business side.

Married with two wonderful children and a passion for all things internet, politics, popular culture and food. This site is meant as a creative outlet for myself and a way for folks to keep in touch with me. There is a facebook account out there somewhere which I only update every 6 months or thereabout, so I’d take my chances with this website if you want to see what I am up to.

The site is divided into 3 main sections:

Play: This is where we get to talk movies, music, games etc. I will do my best to keep it updated with retro reviews, popular culture chat etc. I have played video games in one shape or another for 25 years and owned around 1000 games across numerous platforms over the years.

Work: Here I write about my work, interests, the industry and my experiences. Feedback and comments are highly welcome. The one thing I enjoy more than talking shop is talking shop with other people.

Opinion: The above is a lie, actually. The one thing I enjoy talking about more than the two mentioned above, is politics and its impact on you and me. Politically, I am independent but typically side with the liberals in the room. You have been warned.

All content is written by me, unless another author is expressly credited. I am not a native English speaker, but pretty good at letting the spell checker get the last word. However, typos and other errors are to be expected (unless you or another kind soul are willing to pay for a copy editor).

So much for the menu, folks. Have a pleasant stay and try to behave
